February Vacation Week 2022 ~ Science & Technology Camp Register View Cart

This engaging and amazing program will not only enrich your  child’s  intellectual curiosity; but also, get him or her excited about science and learning! Children will use their analytical and critical thinking skills and explore the science world. The kids will be having so much fun, they won’t even realize that they are learning!

We are thrilled to partner with Mad Science of the Capital District to offer the following outstanding and unique science program! The program is curriculum-correlated and meets S.T.E.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) objectives. Professional equipment and materials will be used. Mad Science programs will encourage team-building, as we work  collaboratively to solve real-world S.T.E.M. problems!
All supplies are included.

COVID-19 UPDATE: EFFECTIVE September 1, 2021
As we begin our fall/winter programming, we are updating our COVID-19 Guidance for all program participants. Guidance provided below considers that we are in an area with high transmission rates (Warren County).
Additional announcements will be shared as guidance from Warren County Public Health is updated.
All participants are encouraged to NOT attend programming if they are not feeling well or if a family member is not feeling well.
Additionally, it is recommended that participants keep their hands clean, wear face coverings and practice social distancing when participating in all indoor activities or programs.
Participants of programs that use INDOOR school facilities are REQUIRED to wear masks at all times (Except while participating in aquatic programs).
Participants at outdoor programs, trails or facilities are NOT required to wear face coverings unless they are unable to maintain social distancing or in large gatherings.
With the exception of Qby. School Facilities, face coverings are recommended during indoor activities and programs. Participants may be asked to show vaccination card or NYS Excelsior Pass.
REQUIRED to wear masks for indoor activities and programs (Regardless of location) and should maintain 6’ social distancing when possible.

  • Check out shapes and why they are so strong!
  • Investigate arches, and geodeic domes.
  • Discover why an egg’s shape is so strong and how you can find this shape in buildings.
  • Test loads and build some bridges when you put on an engineer’s hat and learn about structures.

  • Explore fundamental “nuts and bolts” of chemistry, starting with the principle of “chemical counting” using the chemists’ unit of measure, a mole.
  • Figure out the contents of a mystery solution using standard chemical reactions, and then campers will apply the principles of analysis in assaying real, off-the-shelf pain relief tablets for aspirin content.
  • Cool molecular model building introduces chemical structure and bonding, and electrochemisty rounds out the day.
  • The topics here range from creating electric current using chemical systems (exactly as a battery does) to plating (Chemically bonding) one metal to another.
