Have you ever.....
*woken up in the middle of the night and not been able to get back to sleep?
*felt full of fear or anxiety?
*felt like you’re living your life on autopilot?
*driven to the store or taken a walk only to realize that you’ve missed the whole trip by being lost in thought?
*felt stressed, overwhelmed, tired, disconnected?

Additional Program Information
  • Harvard researchers have found that people spend 47% of their waking hours thinking about something other than what they’re doing, and this mind-wandering typically makes them unhappy. Mindfulness is defined as maintaining a moment-by-moment, non-judgmental awareness of your thoughts, feelings, bodily sensations, and surrounding environment. Research has shown that practicing mindfulness lowers stress hormones in the body, improves cognitive function, decreases pain, increases mental focus, and lowers depression.
  • Join biologist and naturalist, Beth Bidwell, for a program that will introduce you to this rewarding practice. You will learn techniques for quieting the mind, being present in the moment, and reconnecting with yourself. You will leave with tips for including mindfulness in your daily life and sharing your practice with your children and your pets. Beth will teach you how to squeeze moments of peace into your busy day. Practice while you shower, wash the dishes or drive to work. Practice indoors or out. Just ten minutes a day will change your life! Easy to learn and free to practice, mindfulness gives a great return on your time investment. When every moment of every day is an opportunity to practice, the benefits manifest rapidly. You do not have to work with a guru or sit in a yoga pose to reap the many benefits of mindfulness.
