Mad Science
 
Real Hands-On Science…Pure Science FUN!
This engaging and amazing program will not only enrich your child’s intellectual curiosity; but also, get him or her excited about science and learning! Children will use analytical and
critical thinking skills and explore topics in the science world. The kids will be having so much fun, they won’t even realize they are learning!

MAD SCIENCE CAMP
We are thrilled to partner with Mad Science of the Capital District (thecapitaldistrict.madscience.org) to offer the following outstanding and unique science program! This program is curriculum-correlated and meets S.T.E.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) objectives. Professional equipment and materials will be used. All supplies are included. This camp will encourage team-building, as we work collaboratively to solve real-world S.T.E.M. problems!

All Mad Science educators hold Bachelor’s Degrees in S.T.E.M.

Rocketry in Space
  • In this program, we will focus on rocket transportation, rocket staging, and advanced rocket launches. Campers will discover the advantages of rocket staging.
  • Discover how balance and stability are important to rocket design.
  • The altitude tracker children will make shows how high rockets fly.
  • Children will use their feet to launch air powered rockets.
  • Campers will become part of a launch team to assist in a rocket launch.
  • This exciting program ends with rocket launches the last half-hour of the camp!
  • This Mad Science camp is a blast for boys and girls, alike! It’s out-of-this world!

Additional Information
  • Please have your child bring a drink and a nut-free snack each day.
  • Note to parents: For your child’s safety, please inform the Department Staff, at the time of registration, and the instructor of any known allergies that exist for your child!
