We are all about art in the park with inspiration all around us!  Your child can create wonderful art projects, enjoy getting some fresh air, and have a so much FUN using his/her creative mind!

There is a wide-array of superb activities to choose from and as an ADDED BONUS, each registered child will receive a FREE Gurney Lane Pool Day Pass! A $10 VALUE! The one-day pass entitles each child and a supervising adult free admission to the pool. It can be used the day of the program or at another time.

All supplies and materials are included. Have your child join us  for a great, creative time — fun and smiles provided, too!
 

Program Information
  • MAKE A SAND CANDLE - Make a sand candle and decorate with pebbles, sand, and shells.
  • CREATE A NATURE SUN-CATCHER WIND CHIME - Gather nature’s bounty and make a magnificent sun-catcher to hang at home.
  • PAINTED CANVAS SUNBURST - Paint a brilliant tie-dyed sunburst on canvas with straws!
  • MAKE SLIME & SALT FLOUR CLAY - Make slime and gross your friends out! Take home salt flour clay to sculpture with.
  • PAINTED CERAMICS WITH DEBBIE BACKUS - (2 Separate Sessions) Debbie, formerly of Creative Chameleon, is back with her poured ceramics for you to paint, varnish, and glitter!
  • WATERCOLOR PAINTING CLASS - Learn how to paint with watercolors on wood.
  • PAINT A MANDELA - Learn how to paint a Mandela on wood.
  • MAKE A BEADED CAR SUN-CATCHER & KEYCHAIN - Make a beaded car suncatcher and keychain out of beautiful crystals and beads, for extraordinary pieces!
  • AZTEC “STONE” PAINTING - Create this really cool stone-looking mural with paint!
  • ACRYLIC POUR PAINTING ON CANVAS - Learn how to do YouTube-popular Acrylic Pour Painting!
  • LEARN TO DRAW — ILLUSTRATION CLASS! - Skidmore Fine Arts Graduate and St. Rose Illustration Teacher will guide your child in the art of drawing, especially fantasy figures.

  • The Department is delighted to partner with ADK Creative Works to present the following children’s art series! Let’s inspire your child’s creativity with these fabulous art programs and local artists at Gurney Lane!
  • ADK Creative Works is a Co-Op where artisans and musicians share their creativity, whether it be teaching classes or marketing their handcrafted goods. ADK also accepts used music instruments to donate to schools for children in need to use.
