Young Chef Stirring a Bowl
Program Instructor, Nicole Maney, is a K-2 teacher at the Green Meadow Elementary School in East Greenbush, Channel 13 Teacher of the Week, and an After School  Enrichment Coordinator from 2003-2011. 

General Information
  • Children will be exposed to basic cooking techniques and different foods through the use of children’s books and hands-on cooking activities.
  • All food prepared will be based on books read.
  • There will be FUN craft projects related to the topics, too!
  • The kids will have a blast - guaranteed!
  • All food supplies and art materials are included. Lunch and a snack will be served for each program.
  • Note to parents: For your child’s safety, please inform the Department Staff, at the time of registration, and the instructor of any known allergies that exist for your child.
  • for Grades K-3 (for the 2018-2019 school year).

SESSION 1: GRADES K-1
Theme: Cooks, Books, Crafts, and More! Activities featured on Leo Leonni books: Simmy, Inch by Inch, Fredrick, A Color of My Own, and More!

SESSION 2: GRADES 2-3
Theme: Fun & Edible Food Science and More! Activities featured: Skittle Rainbow, Homemade Ice Cream,
and a Solar Oven for cooking (weather dependent), and More!
