Chainsaw Horror Chase
This is a two-part program, with the first evening featuring the screening of the 1941 movie version of The Maltese Falcon and the second evening developing the sequel using modern-day forensics and great dialogue!

Refreshments will be served both nights! Please join us for evenings of mystery and mystique!

PRE-REQUISITE: please read the The Maltese Falcon novel prior to the first class.

Instructor: Thomas Jones
  • BA and MA degrees from the University of Illinois, and a JD (Law) from the University of Michigan, as well as graduate studies in forensic science and geography.
  • He spent over 11 years as an attorney, where he reviewed specific types of evidence for probative value, as well as for authenticity.
  • Thom recently gave a guest lecture on Linguistic Analysis of Ransom Notes to the Criminology class at Southwest Minnesota State University (SMSU).
  • He was subsequently invited to prepare a course on Forensic Science at SMSU.
  • Thom teaches a number of courses on forensic science at Empire State College, including Forensic Science (intro and advanced), Criminology, Terrorism and Homeland Security, Unsolved Crimes, and Crime and Ideology.
  • He also teaches Environmental Forensic Science at Siena College.
