Animals Around the Globe - Live Animals!
Wildlife Education by Bernie will bring kids up close and personal to the wonderful world of animals from around the world. Live presentations will feature interesting facts about each animal — children will be captivated! For more animal science fun, real-life, unique specimens will be presented for your child to touch, investigate, and explore. To top it all off, we will be playing an interactive, educational game of Wild Faces! We will have a roaring good time — please join us!

Instructor: Bernadette Hoffman, Licensed USDA Exhibitor, NYS Licensed, Member of Feline Conservation Federation, Member of National Wildlife Federation, and former Zookeeper.

Reptile Adventure - Live Reptiles!
This program is an overview of reptiles and amphibians; explaining what makes a reptile a reptile and how different reptiles live in their native ecosystems. We have a variety of animals from all over the globe and from many habitats. Topics include what the animals eat, how they find their food, how they avoid predators, and what related animals can be found in New York. Reptile Adventure, based in NY’s Capital Region, is an educational organization that brings live animals to venues. They are extremely hands-on, allowing participants to touch; and even, hold most of their animals. Children will learn about 8 different reptiles. Educators strive to bring a cheerful and positive approach to
educating with reptiles; to do so without hype, tall tales, or attempts to frighten the audience—just friendly animals, stranger-than-fiction facts, and they are sensitive, knowledgeable educators.

It’s fascinating hands-on, interactive reptile education that’s too amazing to miss!

Educator Jessica Shea, Reptile Adventure, will lead the program.

A DAY ON THE FARM! Live Animals!
  • It’s the 1800’s and we are going back to the day of Laura Ingalls and The Little House on the Prairie! Let’s be pioneers and settlers and learn about life on the farm and create everyday items!
  • Winterberry Farm, a fully operational and sustainable farm, will be traveling to Queensbury! The farm will feature eight different animals, including a miniature horse! We will learn about each breed, how animals benefit a farm, general care and management, and more. Our young farmers will learn how to handle the animals and pet them, too!
  • Our little pioneers will have to do chores, BUT, they will have GREAT FUN! We will learn to dip candles like in the 1800’s and they can make as many candles as time permits. They will have choices of scents, colors, and shapes. We are not done yet…we are also making soap! We will learn to make it the old-fashioned way. We will craft our own soap with natural additions, such as lavender, vanilla beans, and hibiscus flowers-the sky is the limit!
  • Children can make as many bars as time permits.
  • On our Parks and Rec Farm, there is always time for FUN! Let’s learn and laugh, together!!
  • Educator: Lindsay Sprague, B.A. Animal Science, Cornell University Winterberry Farm, Ithaca, New York
